Philip Rivers sees early alternative for L.A. Bolts

Three consecutive video games at house is a rarity within the NFL — and, as Philip Rivers sees it, a September alternative for the Los Angeles Chargers.

“You take a look at, hey, that’s an opportunity to set the tone, not just for the season however to set the tone for our new place,” Rivers stated Friday to former Bolts teammate Nick Hardwick and Judson Richards of 1360 AM, of the consecutive Sunday video games in higher L.A.

Following the Week 2 house opener Sept. 17 towards the Miami Dolphins, the Chargers will keep house in Weeks three and four to face the Kansas Metropolis Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively.

House for the Chargers is a Carson soccer stadium that seats about 30,000. That they had performed since 1967 in what was first generally known as San Diego Stadium in Mission Valley.

December 2010 was the earlier time the Chargers performed three in a row at house. They went 2-1, defeating the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers after dropping to the Oakland Raiders.
