Motown songwriter Sylvia Moy, the storied recording studio’s first feminine producer who penned or collaborated on a number of hits, together with Stevie Marvel’s “My Cherie Amour” and Marvin Gaye’s “It Takes Two,” has died in suburban Detroit. She was seventy eight.
Moy died Saturday at a hospital in Dearborn from problems from pneumonia, her brother, Melvin Moy, advised The Related Press on Thursday.
